The Kneeboarder

Digital Fabrication, Winter School, School of Art, University of Tasmania. Learning how to make three dimensional forms by computer modelling, then creating tongue a groove cross-sections which are laser cut in corrugated cardboard. The brief was to make a form with the same rounded square start and end shape, so that all the students pieces could be joined together and only use four sheets of card. I chose to make mine a figure and tried to find a pose that would work with the end shapes. Only after I modelled him did I realise that like me, he was a kneeboarder.
