Twelve postcards from Vancouver.

Most of May was spent working on the final sequences of Neil Blomkamp's District 9. In my spare time I drew the view from the balcony of my apartment. I would colour each postcard sized section according to the light conditions at the time, then stick a stamp on the back and send it home. It was nice to get back and see them all together for the first time.

Tone,

Nice intersection between my memories of Vancouver and David Hockney's Polaroid collage practice over the decades.

If your back at Falmouth Tas, the surf looks good **envious sigh**

Cheers David, much appreciated comparisons. I was thinking of the portaits by Jenny Watson or Chuck Close, but Hockney will do.

Tony! I finally get to see the postcards/painting you were telling me about. Very cool. Such a creative idea. I'm glad you posted it on your blog.

Hope all is well,
